The 10th Season of team PRS in the OCM league was another transitional affair. It was a slow start in season 26 without any results until day 19, after that it was more of a trickle then a torrent but a steady number of points kept team PRS in division 5. The mid point of the season was where the first victory came and it was for Harald Arndt at Cort in Ireland, as the first true all round victory for team PRS this was quite a milestone and the mood was buoyant in the camp is the men looked forward to bigger and brighter things. This, however, was not to be the case with one of the worst result droughts in the teams history lasting from day 45 all the way up to the last throws of the season. With team in disarray picking up only 63 points in the intervening period Pete found his athletes languishing in div 6. A position their talent certainly did not warrant, with form on the increase but still no results, the manager decided it was time for a gamblers last throw and went all out across mainland Europe, and for the first time in the history of this great team back to back victories was achieved. With Harald Arndt winning in Alesund, Norway and Paulo Roca winning in Kluczbork, Poland, his debut victory. This meant the team achieved 10 top tens in 10 races, in their tenth season not quite the perfect 10 but near enough.
These victories bringing the team up to Div 4 at the very end of the season, the final stats for S26 were as follows:
3 Victories
2 Second
1 Third
21 Total top 10s
393 OCM points
Hugo Sheehan sadly parted company with the team after being one of the original members in the squad and the first cyclist to reach maximum skill. Manager Pete stated ‘Hugo has been a true ambassador to this team for all 10 seasons and after turning over the captaincy early in his career was always keen to help the team in tours and across the classics.’
Hugo’s final stats:
3 Victories
1 Second
5 Thirds
24 Total top 10s
255 OCM points
